“Yeah, he’s relentless,” defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence added. “You can see that in every play. Bad plays will happen; what’s important is how you respond. He handled it well, and that’s all that matters.”
That, indeed, is what matters for the Giants (2-5) right now, even after their devastating outcome in Denver. Few Giants quarterbacks have rebounded from tough situations as effectively as Dart did on Sunday. Given the struggles the franchise has faced over the past decade, it’s refreshing to see a quarterback who remains unshaken even amid adversity.
In some ways, Dart’s early performances evoke memories of Eli Manning, whose calm was legendary under pressure. Although their styles differ—Dart is more agile and perhaps more outwardly confident—their ability to maintain composure amid chaos is strikingly similar.
He demonstrated that he could instill order into the disorder and has matured to make significant things happen, even when faced with overwhelming challenges. “He’s just resilient,” Bellinger stated after the game. “He played with resilience. In that huddle, you wouldn’t think he’s a rookie given how he carries himself. He’s a mature individual destined for success in this league.”
